DSFlex ECA DSFLEX ECA

Terms of Use & Disclaimer

Effective date: September 28, 2026

Please read this carefully before installing or using the DSFlex ECA hardware ("the Device") or its companion app ("the App"). By installing or using either, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Device or App.

1. What This Device Does

The Device is a measurement sensor. It reads the ethanol content (as a percentage) and temperature of the fuel passing through it, and sends those readings to the App over Bluetooth.

The Device does not:

It is a reference instrument only. What you or your tuner do with its readings is entirely outside the Device's function and outside our control.

2. Measurement Accuracy

The Device is designed, calibrated, and tested to accurately measure ethanol content and fuel temperature under normal operating conditions, within the tolerance stated in the product specifications. This is the core function of the Device, and we stand behind it.

As with any electronic sensor, accuracy can be affected by factors outside our control, including sensor wear over time, fuel contamination, extreme temperatures, electrical interference, or incorrect installation. We recommend periodically verifying readings against a known reference, particularly before making a significant tuning change.

3. Installation Is Your Responsibility

The Device requires wiring into your vehicle's electrical and fuel system. Installation involves working with electrical connections, sensor wiring, and your vehicle's fuel system. You are solely responsible for:

We provide general wiring guidance, but we cannot verify your specific installation, and we are not responsible for errors made during installation.

4. Readings Are Informational Only — Not a Tuning or Safety System

Ethanol content and fuel temperature readings are provided for informational purposes only. If you or a tuner use these readings to inform ECU calibration — such as fuel maps, injector timing, ignition timing, or boost targets for flex-fuel tuning — that is a separate technical process performed entirely by you or your tuner, using your own tools, software, and judgment.

An incorrect, delayed, or misread ethanol reading used as an input to engine tuning can result in an incorrect fuel or timing calibration, which can cause a lean condition, detonation, or other engine damage. This risk exists in any flex-fuel tuning setup, independent of any single sensor's accuracy, and is a known and inherent risk of performance tuning generally.

You are solely responsible for:

Do not rely on the Device as the sole basis for any decision that could affect engine safety.

5. Engine Tuning Is Not Performed, Reviewed, or Endorsed by Us

DSFlex does not perform, write, review, approve, or guarantee any ECU tune, calibration, or map — whether created by you, a third-party tuner, or any tuning software. We have no relationship with, and no responsibility for, the work of any tuner or shop you choose to work with. Any dispute, damage, or performance issue arising from a tune itself is between you and the party who performed that tune, not DSFlex.

6. Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge that modifying a vehicle's fuel or engine calibration — particularly on forced-induction (turbocharged/supercharged) or otherwise performance-tuned vehicles — carries an inherent risk of engine or component damage, independent of the Device. By using the Device and App as part of your own tuning process, you accept this risk.

7. Product Provided "As Is" (Except as Stated Above)

Apart from the measurement accuracy described in Section 2, the Device and App are provided "as is" and "as available." We make no other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement — for example, regarding the App's software, connectivity, or uptime.

8. No Liability for Vehicle or Property Damage

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DSFlex is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from:

9. Not Intended for Safety-Critical or Regulated Use

The Device is intended for informational, off-road, and performance-tuning reference use only. It is not designed, tested, or certified for use in aircraft, marine propulsion safety systems, medical devices, or any application where failure or inaccurate readings could lead to death, personal injury, or severe property or environmental damage. Do not use the Device for any such purpose.

10. Warranty Exclusions

Our limited hardware warranty (if any, as stated at time of purchase) does not cover damage caused by: incorrect installation, incorrect wiring or polarity, exceeding rated voltage, water/moisture damage, physical damage, unauthorized modification, or use outside the Device's intended purpose.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Device or App — however arising, including negligence — is limited to the amount you paid for the Device.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold DSFlex harmless from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your installation, use, or misuse of the Device or App, or from any tuning or calibration decision made using its readings.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Device or App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
