Privacy Policy
QR ScanPro ("the app") is a QR code and barcode scanner and generator published by Daviti Samakashvili ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information.
1. Information stored on your device
The app saves the following on your device only, and never sends it to us:
- Your scan history and the codes you create, including any favorites.
- Your preferences, such as the app language and whether you've finished the welcome screens.
On the free plan, history items that aren't favorites are deleted automatically after a few days. You can delete any item yourself at any time, and deleting the app removes all of this data.
2. Permissions the app asks for
Each permission is requested only when you use the feature that needs it, and is used only for that purpose:
- Camera – to scan QR codes and barcodes. The live camera image is processed on your device; it isn't recorded, stored, or uploaded.
- Photo library – to scan a code from a picture you choose, and to save QR codes you generate to your photos. Only images you pick are read, on your device.
- Contacts – only to add a contact card you scanned, when you tap the button to do so. The app does not read or upload your address book.
- Calendar – write-only access, only to add an event from a scanned code when you tap the button to do so.
- Wi-Fi – when you scan a Wi-Fi code and tap Join, the network details from the code are handed to iOS to connect you. iOS asks you to confirm first.
You can change or revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings → QR ScanPro.
3. Codes you scan
The content of the codes you scan or create is not transmitted to us or to any analytics service. If you choose to open a link from a scanned code, it opens in your browser or the relevant app, and that website or app handles your information under its own policy.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of the app shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, limit how often you see them, and prevent fraud, Google may process information such as your IP address (from which an approximate location can be estimated), a device identifier, advertising data such as the ads you have seen, your interactions with ads, and diagnostic information such as crash logs and performance data (for example launch time). This data is collected by Google's advertising software included in the app, not by us, and is handled by Google under its own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses information from apps that use its services
- Data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK
The app does not request permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, so your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) is not available to ad partners and ads may be less personalized. Buying Remove Ads or Pro removes ads from the app.
Consent in Europe. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows a consent form (provided through Google's User Messaging Platform) the first time it starts, before any ads are loaded. You can choose to consent, decline, or manage your options. You can change your choice at any time from Settings → About → Ad Privacy Settings in the app, which appears when your region requires it.
5. Purchases
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment details. The app only checks with Apple's StoreKit on your device to know which purchases you own, so it can unlock the right features. Apple's handling of your data is described in the Apple Privacy Policy.
6. Information we collect
We do not collect personal information through the app, and we receive no data from it. The app does not include any analytics or crash-reporting service of ours; the only third-party data collection is by Google's advertising software, as described in section 4 (and only in the free version, for people who have not removed ads). If you contact us by email, we will see your email address and your message, and use them only to reply.
7. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your choices and rights
Because your data stays on your device, you are in control of it: delete history items in the app, revoke permissions in iOS Settings, or delete the app to remove everything. For ad-related data held by Google, you can use the in-app consent settings described in section 4 where available, and Google's own controls and request channels linked above. You can also review Apple's ad settings in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
